You’ve Got Money!

9:19 a.m. - A text alert informs me that $30.00 was loaded onto my card and my balance totals $30.23.

10:30 a.m. - I log onto the cardholder website, and I see I have $30.23 on my card and $65.00 in my savings account. I also see - thanks to my PaychekPLUS! Elite card's Cash Back Rewards program - that there's an offer for 25% cash back on purchases at Sports Authority - no limit. I'll have to start thinking about what I need from Sports Authority. I also have a new cash back offer from Taco Bell - 10%. Looks like I'm going to Taco Bell for lunch. While online, I want to pay my Best Buy credit card bill. First, I transfer an extra $30.00 from savings to my card, and then I pay my bill using online bill pay. That was easy, and I saved time and a stamp! My ending balance is now $25.23.

12:15 p.m. - I order lunch at the Taco Bell drive through. Lunch costs $5.34, but I earned $0.53 cash back. A new text alert says I was charged $5.34 and I have $19.89 on my card. I look at the receipt and note that my authorization number also reflects a balance of $19.89.

8:15 p.m. - Movie time with my wife! Two tickets cost $18.50. A new text alert confirms I was charged $18.50 for the tickets and informs me that I have $1.39 on my card. On the way to the concession stand, I call the phone number on the back of my card and transfer another $20.00 from savings to my card. Two candy treats and a large Diet Coke cost $13.50, as I'm reminded by text alert, and I end the day with $7.89 on my card.

Clearly, I found a lot of ways to make good use of my card in just one day. Next payday I think I'll take my $37.89 and head over to Sports Authority for 25% off golf balls!
